Superloop in numbers

The Outer London loop covers 138 kilometres and adds 6 million bus kilometres to London's road network. It stops in 23 boroughs and serves 55 bus and rail stations. In 2023, we rebranded and renumbered 4 express buses. We also added 5 new services at the end of 2023 and the start of 2024.

Route X140 was introduced as a limited stop service between Harrow and Heathrow Central bus stations and as a partial replacement for the all stops route 140, which was withdrawn between Hayes & Harlington and Heathrow at the same time. Route X140 was initially operated by Metroline.

“The Superloop is a game-changing new network of express buses that have added more than six million additional bus kilometres to the capital's bus network, linking stations, town centres, hospitals and transport hubs.

According to the TfL website: “Superloop is a network of 10 express bus routes which will improve connections and journey times between key outer London town centres and transport hubs.” The routes are priced at the same £1.75 rate as other London bus routes and are subject to the same hopper fare rules.

Route X140 between Harrow and Heathrow Central will be renumbered SL9 and rebranded to become part of the Superloop from Saturday 26 August, offering customers an instantly recognisable express bus service in west London.
