1. Vinyl Record Cake
A vinyl record stack cake!
Well, I guess this is little strange… but so cool!
I’m not gifted at cake decorating so mine would not look like that! But luckily, there are plenty of bakeries around.
2. Christmas Lights Cupcakes
We used chocolate syrup for the light strings but I’m thinking frosting might have worked better. Next time…
You can make all sorts of Christmas lights desserts from cupcakes and cookies to candy coated strawberries. Yummy!

3. Cupcake Toppers
With a fun topper any cake or cupcake becomes Stranger Things dessert.
I love the cake idea too! The waffle pieces on whipped cream swirls. Yum!
For a less creepy effect, you might want to use the fun character toppers.
4. Demogorgon Strawberries
A fun idea from Not Quite Nigella: demogorgon strawberries! Who could resits strawberries and chocolate!
And these actually look really delicious and not like a yucky demogorgon.
5. Popcorn Mix
Everyone likes popcorn! We go through a ton of popcorn in our family and every now and then have to replace the popcorn maker… they do wear out.
Pop some popcorn and mix it with black and red candies like twizzler pieces or m&m’s.
6. Coca-Cola
Our beverage options were coca cola and water. You could of course come up with other things like “Demogorgon’s blood”… Just make a cute label for a juice bottle and you’re all set.
7. co*cktail and Waffles
Obviously, this Stranger Things co*cktail from Food Fanatic is for adults only but you could make one for kids by using ginger ale or apple juice!
8. Candy, candy, candy
Serve a variety of popular candies from the 80’s!
Our party was soon after Halloween so we served whatever was left from the Trick or Treat trip.
Some popular candy from the 80’s include

- Skittles
- Runts
- Air Heads
- Sour Patch Kids
- Chupa Chups Lollipops
- Cow Tails
- Pop Rocks
9. Waffle Bar
I’m not sure if you can have a Stranger Things party without a waffle bar.
Waffle bar is quite easy especially if you serve Eggos.
Have a couple of toasters ready for heating up the waffles and several awesome topping choices for making amazing waffle creations.

- almond butter
- sliced apples

- applesauce
- cinnamon

Add a few savory options like

Come up with fun combos and names for waffle creations such as
- Dustin’s Apple Dare: vanilla ice cream, apple slices and honey.
- Barb’s Birthday Bash: cotton candy ice cream, whipped cream and sprinkles
10. Eggo Sliders
What else can you do with waffles?
Eleven’s Eggo Sliders from 2 Geeks Who Eat! A fun, easy savory option to satisfy the salt craving.
11. Demogorgon Ice Cream
This actually looks pretty delicious and not creepy! I’d eat one of these… or maybe two.
Make waffle bowls, fill with ice cream and top with strawberry syrup. Easy! I think. At least once you have your waffle bowls done.
12. Upside Down Sundae
I love easy awesome ideas. And this is definitely one of them! You don’t need amazing baking or decorating skills to pull this off.
Simply start with a cherry and whipped cream at the bottom! Cool! This dessert is going to be a hit.
Make it even more fun and ask everyone to make their own upside down sundaes. (The sundae idea is from No-Guilt Fan Girl)
13. Pringles
This party is so easy when it comes to food. Pringles. Yes, simple plain Pringles.
14. French Fries
An order of fries. Yay! Serve the fries from black fast food baskets lined with parchment paper just like they did at Benny’s Burgers
15. Hamburger
Enjoy a hamburger with those fries. You could set up your food table as Benny’s Burger place. That would be pretty cool!
16. Strawberry Ice Cream
Strawberry ice cream was another thing Eleven enjoyed at Benny’s. Serve it from paper ice cream cups.
17. Scrambled Eggs
Scrambled eggs were cooked many times in the Stranger Things episodes. A filling breakfast food that works well as a dinner too with the waffles or…
18. Turkey Sandwich
A turkey sandwich is said to be a popular comfort food in the 80’s. Serve big sandwiches or small sandwich bites.
19. Sausage and Pepperoni Pizza
This meat lovers pizza was featured in the TV series. Have a pizza delivered to the party or as a fun activity make your own personal size pizzas.
20. Meatloaf and Mashed Potatoes
Serve a dinner Wheeler style. Homemade meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and canned green beans. Your guests won’t go hungry at this party.
21. Chicken and Tater Tots
Another filling meal served at Wheeler dinner: chicken, tater tots, mixed vegetables, and a dinner roll. Yummy.
22. Chocolate Pudding
Serve chocolate pudding as a dessert or use it as a waffle topping at the waffle bar.
Paper Plates and Cups
If you go with the black and red theme, you can simply buy paper plates and cups in those colors. Party on budget!
Backdrop For Food Table
1. Alphabet Wall
The alphabet backdrop looks fun behind the food table or use for photo shoots.
Our letters are cardstock cutouts but you can also buy alphabet wall clings… inexpensive and so much faster than making the letters yourself.
2. Stranger Things DIY Sign and Plastic Tablecovers
Our backdrop was made with plastic tablecovers and a Stranger Things sign (DIY). The sign looked really cool in the dark with the glowing red letters.

We used a backdrop stand for hanging up the plastic tablecloths. This is the stand we have and it’s worked pretty well for us.
