In 2021, JPMC Glasgow rejected me after a call with the Hiring Manager...💯...JP Morgan and Chase is a well known organization that specializes in investment banking and financial services. I applied for their Python Software Engineer Role for Glasgow location back in 2021.💼Getting a chance to interview with such a big name was amazing in itself. They had a different hiring process where the first round was with the hiring manager followed by a single technical interview. Since I was very new to the industry I had the understanding that Hiring manager round is to check cultural fitness and more of a behavioral round.The interview was very normal, started with a greeting. The manager asked me general questions about Python, My experience in previous internships and how the product lifecycle works.👨🏻💻I answered the product lifecycle based on my understanding and experience but he doesn't seem to be happy with the same and was expecting something else. I cracked an Internship at Microsoft in 2019, And things were completely different from today...💯...- The world was all normal and not facing any pandemic. 😷- No recession in the Tech industry, Hence, no talks about layoffs. 💼- Jobs were not poached by AI and Web dev was more lucrative. 🤖- No news offers being revoked by Tech firms.🚫2024 and 2023 batch have gone through all these hurdles, You see more layoffs or offers being revoked posts on LinkedIn than getting hired.With that said, Things were neither in my control at that time and nor in your control today. You might be doing your best and still couldn't get through.All the above hurdles hamper the preparation, mindset and mental health of the candidate. But what next?If you're from 2023/2024 Batch and believe that you deserve a job based on your resume/skillset but still unplaced, Please comment down with what you're doing today to get your next job.I'll reply with the best solution possible as per experience.
