There were other people in the home at the time of the shooting, confirmed Sheriff's Office spokesman Master Sgt. Danny Allen, though no one else was injured. Three other nearby homes were reportedly also struck by gunfire.
"It does seem like the house that this gentleman was killed in was the targeted house," Allen said, suggesting that some of the shots fired may have passed completely through the home before striking adjacent houses.
No arrests have been made and the incident remains under investigation. A Sheriff's Office advisory stated the shooting was believed to be an isolated incident.
