The Sentai Summary: Boonboomger #11 Highlights Sentai-fic Details With New Evil Commander - The Toku Source (2024)

Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger #11 becomes Sentai-fically insightful with a new General debut. The latest episode of the 48^th Sentai series features the Modification Captain, Cannonborg, along with special details for the team.

Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger has recently revealed the conclusion of the first lap, in episode 9. This means that a new story arc has begun in the series that will see the series accelerate into a new gear. It was rumoured that a purple hero may be joining later in the series, but there are still duos of Boonboom cars yet to debut. The most recent was the combination featuring Boonboom Classic and Boonboom Racing, Boonboomger Robo Knight. Exciting additions to the new lineup of episodes have already been teased, including a Sentai crossover.

The latest monster of the week gave fans a chance to see Boonboomger VS Boonboomger as they face each other’s abilities. As Taiga is tasked with an important delivery, fans are introduced to his mentor and the relationship with them. Although a filler episode, the episodic event also includes unique features, including a new custom formation for the Robo.

A Custom Nightmare, Details Highlighted

The second episode of lap 2 features introduction of Cannonborg, after the defeat of Charge Team Captain, Madrex. The Sanseaters provide the new foe with their usual M.O. and create an Antenna Grumer as the latest Kurumaju. The episode features a great mix of combat against teammates, handling possessed citizens, and even little details for fans to enjoy. The episode also introduces Taiga’s mentor who led him to becoming a delivery courier, Lightning Tech CEO, Raita Naito (Katsuhiko Nagato).

The Driver is in the Details

There were devious components to this episode including meeting the person that Taiga sees as a mentor. The delivery included a plushie of BunRed to be delivered to a child in a hospital, which was a great way to showcase the toy line. The big addition to the series was the introduction of Cannonborg, who takes up the void left by MadRex. He added a real flare by having a custom mod ability that matches the theme perfectly. His entrance was also teased by Saiba, suggesting that the leaders might enter using the same method.There was also some CGI humour from Yeiyei, unable to keep her mouth closed without intervention for a little slice of comedy.

Yuichi Hachisuka portrayed Cannonborg as an amusing mad scientist, which matches his surprising ability to modify a Kurumaju. The change to Antenna Grumer also added a nice escalation and surprise to the episode. There were also a ton of effects throughout the episode, with the effects team leaving no detail out and without relying on the prerecorded Henshin sequence. This created a great episode that kept the audience hooked, but the best Sentai-centric moment was Taiga revealing that BunPinkhad beenmisusing the Boonboom Handle Rod mode as a mace. This detail was a great and humorous surprise since it had seemed like another mode for quite a few episodes.

Fantastic Fights and Sentai References

There was some fantastic choreography featured in this spectacular episode, including a highlight of skill from the suit actors. This especially includes Yukimasa Ono and even Satoru Soma for great transformations and high agile action.Fans also get the chance to see how the team deal with controlled civilians and fighting against each other. This includes BunOrange and BunRed fighting against the others, providing excellent acrobatic moments from Mori Hirotsugu, Sakanashi Yume, along with Ono.

The episode added a great amount of new combat scenes previously witnessed in other Sentai series. This including facing the indoctrinated citizens along with the henchman. However, fans also got a great active Sentai transformation reference as the Boonboom Change featured an adaptable trigger gimmick to series like GoGo Sentai Boukenger. It was awesome to see this anticipated feature in the latest Sentai, especially as the Boonboom Changers work similarly to the GoGo Changer for completing activation with a spinning wheel.

Uplifting Moments and Robo Customs

It was great to see the exact reason for Taiga becoming a delivery driver, to fit the settings and background of the character. There are some great connections and details written into the story, allowing the Sentai to really stand out among the vehicle based series. It was also heartwarming to have the plush delivery to a hospitalised child, giving that heart toward the target audience. The episode also features some great robo action with Boonboomger Robo Knight, but an interesting detail is that the defeat of Antenna Grumer seemed to be cut for the big explosion during an earlier episode.

There was even some great mecha action as Yeiyei launched dishes on the Highway Space, keeping the action on the road no matter how quick. The duration was short, but it is always fantastic to see the vehicles in action without needing to combine. Fans also were granted some custom robo combinations that saw the Boonboomger Robo manually attach vehicles. The toy line allows for customisation so to have that reflected in the series was a bright move to create show accuracy.
